Horseback Riding Lessons

Are you in the Murfreesboro TN or Smyrna TN area and want to take horseback riding lessons for yourself or your child? I offer riding lessons for beginners and intermediate riders.

Currently riding lessons are offered on Tuesday's and Saturdays. When spring comes around I will be opening more days for lessons.

• 1 Hour Lesson is $25.00
• 1/2 Hour Lesson is $15.00

Package Deals are available for the repeat customer. You can purchase a punch card (Gift Certificate) and get FREE lessons. The punch card is a great way to have friends and family buy a Christmas or Birthday Present that you or your child wants.

• 1 Hour Punch Cards are $100.00. You get 5 lessons for the price of 4.
• 1/2 Hour Punch Cards are $60.00. You get 5 lessons for the price of 4.

Punch cards are not refundable. You may give them to someone else if you choose not to use them yourself. There is no expiration date on any punch card. Ride daily, weekly, or monthly. It is up to you.

I give lessons to children as young as 6 and start with them on a lead rope until I feel that they are ready to ride on their own. This can be as few as one lesson or as many as 10 or more. I will not push your child to do something they are not ready for because I want riding lessons to be fun. I highly recommend 30 minutes lessons for young children.

Hour lessons are available to anyone that can pay attention for longer periods of time. (young children usually can not)

If your child is younger than 6 or not ready to ride on their own I will give pony rides for the same rates as riding lessons.

Requirements

To be able to participate the following must be met:

• A waiver must be signed by an adult (for adult riders) or a parent for minors.
• A helmet must be worn (available for loan or bring your own).
• A boot with a square heel. You can use riding boots or hiking boots.
• Pants. Comfortable Blue Jeans, riding pants, or tights will work fine.

Types of Lessons available

• Basic Safty around the horse (both on and off a horse).
• Pony Rides. I will lead your child around on a lead rope.
• Basic Riding (learn to ride safely for trails).
• Basic English flat work. (sorry we do not have any jumping horses)
• Beginners Barrels and Poles.
• Trail Obsticles are coming soon.
• Gaited Horses (we have both trotting and gaited horses).

A little about me. I have ridden horses for 30+ years. I've done many many miles of trail riding, I've raced in Barrel and Pole events, I've competed in hunter/jumper, and I've ridden some flat shod walking horse classes. I ride for fun now but can teach you the basics to get you started. I have a B.S. Degree in Equine Science from MTSU and have competed on the Equestrian Team for many years while going to school. Equestrian Riding is all on the position of the rider. I am hoping someday to compete in Endurance Riding.
